Following its free-to-air premiere on Mediaset España last June 18, the thriller Ella, maldita alma is expanding its broadcasting windows. The series continues its weekly linear broadcast during Telecinco’s prime time, while also joining the Movistar Plus+ catalog starting today, where users can now enjoy the full season under demand.
The project is based on a short story by Galician author Manuel Rivas. Its main cast features Maxi Iglesias (Desaparecidos), Martiño Rivas (I Know Who You Are), and Karina Kolokolchykova (Servir y proteger), among others.
Produced in collaboration with Plano a Plano and created by Aurora Guerra, Ella, maldita alma features César Benítez, Álvaro Benítez, Emilio Amaré, and Arantxa Écija as executive producers, with Iñaki Mercero and Javier Quintas directing.
Ella, maldita alma tells the story of an impossible love between two people fighting with all their might against overwhelming feelings they try to deny: Fermín (Maxi Iglesias), a charismatic priest, and Ana (Karina Kolokolchykova), the wife of his cousin Isaac (Martiño Rivas). Isaac is like a brother to Fermín, as his family took him in during his childhood, making him—unknowingly—the third vertex of this complex love triangle.
While the main plot presents the viewer with a mix of conflicting values and emotions such as love, family, passion, guilt, betrayal, and loyalty, the series also paints a portrait of society through the daily lives of a rich cast of supporting characters, their relationships, motivations, and concerns. This is complemented by the unique atmosphere of La Isleta—the fictional town where the story takes place—a political intrigue and corruption subplot, and current real-world references such as the war in Ukraine and multiculturalism.
