Plano a Plano Bilbao broadens its fiction catalog with the psychological thriller INNATE, the latest series created by Fran Carballal (Cicatriz, Una Vida Menos en Canarias) and Enrique Lojo (En Fin, Una Vida Menos en Canarias). Starring Elena Anaya (La Piel que Habito, Wonder Woman, Rifkin’s Festival) and Imanol Arias (Cuéntame cómo pasó), the series promises a gripping exploration of family, trauma, and hidden truths.
The 8-episode series (8×45’) is created by Plano a Plano Bilbao and produced by Innato La Serie, AIE in association with Dynamic Television. Directed by Lino Escalera (No sé decir adiós, Alta Mar), Inma Torrente (Valeria, Desaparecidos) and production is set to begin in Q1 2025. Executive producers include César Benítez, Emilio Amaré, Álvaro Benítez, Fran Carballal, Dan March, and Carrie Stein.
INNATE follows Sara (Elena Anaya), a psychologist who has spent years rebuilding her life after the trauma of being the daughter of Félix Garay (Imanol Arias), a notorious multiple murderer dubbed by the media as “The Diesel Killer.” Now living an idyllic life with her husband Aitor and teenage son Sebas, Sara’s world is turned upside down when Félix is released from prison. A series of new murders emerge, eerily mirroring Félix’s past crimes. As Sara collaborates with the police to solve the case, she remains unaware that her son Sebas has discovered the truth about his grandfather and developed an unhealthy obsession with his story. The tension reaches a breaking point when Sara begins to suspect that Sebas, not Félix, may be responsible for the recent murders.
Dynamic Television serves as the worldwide distribution partner for INNATE, marking the company’s first foray into Spanish-language content. Netflix has acquired exclusive streaming rights for Spain.
