Ella, maldita alma is a new series based on a story by Galician writer Manuel Rivas and stars Maxi Iglesias (Desaparecidos), Martiño Rivas (Sé quién eres) and Karina Kolokolchykova (Servir y proteger).

Produced in association with Plano a Plano and created by Aurora Guerra, Ella, maldita alma has César Benítez, Álvaro Benítez, Emilio Amaré and Arantxa Écija as executive producers and is directed by Iñaki Mercero and Javier Quintas. Filming will begin in the next few weeks on the coast of Cádiz.

Ella, maldita alma tells the story of an impossible love between two people who fight with all their might not to give in to the feelings that overwhelm them: Fermín (Maxi Iglesias), a charismatic priest, and Ana (Karina Kolokolchykova), the wife of his cousin Isaac (Martiño Rivas), almost his brother, whose family has taken him in since childhood and who, without knowing it, is the third point of this complex love triangle.

At the same time as the main plot presents the viewer with an amalgam of conflicting values and emotions such as love, family, passion, guilt, betrayal and loyalty, the series paints a portrait of society through the daily lives of a rich cast of secondary characters, their relationships, motivations and concerns; the peculiarities of La Isleta, the imaginary town in which it is set; a subplot of political intrigue and corruption; and references to current affairs through elements such as the war in Ukraine and multiculturalism.

Synopsis

The life of Fermín, a young and attractive priest who is loved and admired by the inhabitants of La Isleta, the pretty coastal village where his parish church is located, is complicated by the arrival of his beloved cousin Isaac and his beautiful wife Ana, to whom he is immediately attracted. When he discovers that she feels the same way, a fierce battle is waged within him, for if he gives in to the temptation, he would be betraying two things: he would be betraying God, to whom he has dedicated his whole life, and he would be betraying his cousin, whom he loves like a brother. For her part, Ana feels that she owes Isaac an unpayable debt for distancing her from her difficult and tragic past, and so they both begin to live the nightmare of having to give up their happiness for loyalty. In this situation, the couple will have to face not only a complicated moral dilemma, but also more mundane… and dangerous obstacles.
