Against the backdrop of an award-filled closing gala, producer César Benítez received the 2026 Joan Ramón Mainat Award in recognition of a successful career spanning over four decades in Spanish television and film.
Held at the Europa Conference Center, the ceremony was marked by a deeply emotional and warm atmosphere. During an evening that also celebrated the audio-visual season’s outstanding highlights, one of the standout moments came courtesy of three of his industry colleagues and close friends: producer Nicolás García (Catorce), director Manolo Gómez Pereira, and actor Antonio Resines, who took to the stage to present him with the honor.
Amid expressions of affection and camaraderie, his peers praised the founder of Boca a Boca and Plano a Plano—the producer behind hit titles such as Al salir de clase and El Príncipe. Visibly moved, Benítez expressed his gratitude for an award that celebrates a lifetime dedicated to storytelling.
