Canal+ Poland joins the thriller Scar (Cicatriz), led by Plano a Plano in co-production with Dopamine, and Polish actor Maciej Stuhr joins the international cast.

Canal+ Poland is the latest broadcaster to board the new drama series SCAR (Cicatriz), an adaptation of the bestseller of the same name by Juan Gómez-Jurado, written by Money Heist, Vis a Vis and Toy Boy scribes.

The international broadcaster joins the pioneering venture -the first of its kind collaboration between Spanish and Adriatic broadcasters Serbian fiction- whilst it is still in its filming phase. Asacha Media Group key facilitators in making the agreement with Canal+ Poland possible. The subsidiary of the French giant has placed its trust in the potential of this IP and the talent associated with the project, thus anticipating the future success of the fiction.

The Spanish-Mexican co-production produced by Plano a Plano (Spain) and Dopamine (Mexico) features a cast headed by Serbian actress Milena Radulovic (Besa, Superdeep) and Spanish actor Juanlu González (Valeria, La Caza. Guadiana).

The thriller (8×50) is produced by Plano a Plano with Dopamine and with the collaboration of Asacha Media Group and Adrenalin in association with RTVE, Prime Video in Spain and Telekom Srbija, and now Canal+ Poland.

The Scar project, starting from the plot, through an intriguing mix of southern and eastern climates is an unusual and far from stereotypical look at Spain. The production value, the input of the writers of the cult Money Heist, promises a show that will be talked about. And the Polish element in the story will have an additional appeal for our viewers. Thanks to our involvement in such co-operations, we were able to create such well-received titles as Marie Antoinette or DNA 2, which also included Polish talents in the cast.”

Also joining the cast of Scar is Maciej Stuhr (The Secret of the Village), Polish actor, comedian and film director. Maciej will play Jakub Sanders, a tech guru and business tycoon who seeks to wrest LISA, a revolutionary app and his great creation, from Simon. Jakub, a business shark, will hatch a plan that will either make him the most powerful man in the world or be the worst decision of his life.

The series, which began filming in November in Bilbao, will also shoot part of the series on location in Serbia. The directing team includes Miguel Ángel Vivas, Manuel Carballo and Alejandro Bazzano. The script team is made up of Fernando Sancristóbal, Pablo Roa, Verónica Marza, Laura Belloso, Fran Carballal, Ramón Tarrés and Pablo Manchado. The Executive Producers are César Benítez, Emilio Amaré, Emilio A. Pina, Álvaro Benítez, Fernando Sancristóbal and Fidela Navarro.

Canal+ Poland deal was assisted by Akkari Enterprises Ltd (AEL), content distribution company founded by Rita Akkari, ex WB executive.
